As the summer of 2010 draws to a close; many of us are sad to see this season go…
Time just flew by! And many of the free events and adventures that we experienced with our family and friends; will soon be a distant memory. At least we have a few more days left to squeeze in some fun to officially end summer.
So, let’s get started because there are so many free things to do this weekend and so little time.
Whether you are in Washington, DC, New York, or wherever your city happens to be, there will be plenty of Free Things to do this Labor Day Weekend.
If you happen to be in D.C. check out the free annual Labor Day concert performed by the National Symphony Orchestra on the West Lawn of the U.S Capitol Building.
If you are a theater lover then head over to the Kennedy Center September 5-7 from 2-10pm each day for the Page to Stage Festival, a free event featuring more that 40 D.C. area theater companies. It’s a great chance to see many productions before the theater season begins.
If you are in New York City then check out the West Indian American Carnival Parade on Labor Day. This cultural event features bands and dancers in costumes from all over the Caribbean. This parade attracts over three million people from all cultures.
If you can’t get to D.C. or New York then check out freeattractions.com for free Labor Day events going on in your city.
If you just want to stay at home this Labor Day weekend; then host a backyard cookout and invite your family and friends over for some food and fun; ask them to prepare something to eat or have them bring drinks. Break out a couple of board games that you and your friends haven’t played in awhile, and pump up the music with your favorite summer songs.
To keep the kids occupied; take out the water sprinkler and let them run around and have fun or you can create an end of summer scavenger hunt where the kids can search for summer related items.
To end the day; bring out your favorite ice cream, relax, and enjoy the last moments of your summer of 2010.
