It’s the weekend and spring is in the air…
Because gas prices are so high, you want to find fun and free things to do with your family this weekend, that’s close to home. So here are some things that you can do that are easy on your budget.
- Have a pancake and pajama party, invite family, friends, and their kids over for a breakfast of pancakes, orange juice, cartoons, and more. Make sure to have everyone bring over a favorite breakfast dish for this fun get together.
- Have a family movie night, get movies for free at the library, or rent DVD’s for $1 at Red Box. Make popcorn, and settle in for a fun movie night.
- Have a family game night, break out the Xbox or Nintendo Wii, and challenge your family or friends to a night of video games. Or if Board games are more your speed then locate your retro Monopoly and Scrabble games and play the night away the old fashion way.
- Break out the karaoke machine and challenge everyone to a family idol night of singing.
- If it’s a nice day, grab a picnic basket, and take the family to the park for a nature hike.
- Dust off the bicycles and bike with your family throughout the community as an alternative to driving.
- Pretend to have your own cooking show and videotape the family making cupcakes and cookies.
- Head out to your local airport with the family, and watch the planes take off and land, and pretend that you and the family are going on an amazing adventure.
- Have a family story night where everyone makes up something up to create a great story.
- Finally, make sure to check out your local city paper or free attractions.com to find free things to do with the family in your city.
