8 House Warming Tips for the Winter

 

 

It’s that time of year again, as the temperature drops outdoors the temperature rises indoors, since we are trying to fix our finances, we need to become energy efficient so we can save more money.

 

Here are 8 House Warming Tips for the Winter.

 

  • Before turning the furnace on for the winter, make sure its serviced so you won’t have any problems when it gets cold outside.

 

 

  • Be sure to change the filters in your furnace once a month, if you don’t dust will clog the filter and more energy will be used.

 

 

  • Set the thermostat to 68 degrees or lower to save money on energy.

 

 

  • If you want the cold air to stay out, so it stays warms inside, seal window cracks, and use heavy curtains to prevent cold air from coming in through windows.

 

 

  • Place a thick mat, blanket, or towel, on the floor near doors that lead outside to prevent cold air from coming under the doors.

 

 

  • Wear extra layers of clothes to stay warm.

 

 

  • Add extra blankets to beds.

 

 

  • Close doors to rooms that are not being used.

 

 

These are just a few house warming tips that can help you save energy and money this winter.
