6 steps to get back on track to makeover and manage your money.
- Look at your current budget to see if there are any loopholes that you may have missed in terms of where your money is going.
- When buying something continue to ask yourself is this is a “want” or a “need” purchase; and no matter what make sure you “stick to your budget”.
- You only need one credit card for emergencies so, get rid of the rest of your cards.
- Reduce your spending habits if you are trying to get back on the money track; don’t get things unnecessarily, especially if it’s a “want” and not a “need”. You don’t need the most expensive cable package, and you don’t have to get every single feature on your cell phone, you also don’t have to go out and spend money every weekend just for entertainment purposes.
- Stop wasting your electricity and water. Don’t leave lights, or the ceiling fan on especially when no one is in the room. If there is water leaking from your pipes make sure the pipe is turned off fully, because every drop of water adds up costing more money.
- When shopping, buy only what you need on a daily or weekly basis because you may end up throwing food away, which means you will have wasted money on things you didn’t use. Save at least 10 percent of your paycheck every time you get paid, make sure you can create a savings account for unexpected emergencies that may occur, like losing your job, or the car breaking down.
