Happy Motivational Monday,
As we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, let’s remember our challenge to repair and fix our finances.
It’s difficult to suddenly make significant changes in our spending habits, not going out to eat at our favorite restaurant on the weekends, or deciding not to shop for that great outfit because it’s on sale, is really a battle between our old vs. new financial selves.
But these are some of the things that got us into debt in the first place.
We may have a few setbacks in our challenge to become financially responsible, but we have to stay disciplined and committed during this journey to learn how to handle money.
We have to believe in ourselves and not give up on our goal of financial freedom in 2013.
Here are a few quotes from great leaders that overcame challenges in their lives:
“The ultimate measure of man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
Martin Luther King Jr.
“Accept the challenge so that you may feel the exhilaration of victory.”
General George S. Patton
“Give yourself an even greater challenge than the one you are trying to master and you will develop the powers necessary to overcome the original difficulty.”
William Bennett
“Life’s challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they’re supposed to help you discover who you are.”
Bernice Johnson Reagon
“Life is a challenge, Meet it.”
Mother Theresa
