Take Time to Smell the Roses

Have you ever noticed just how fast time is going by?

It seems like just the other day we had several inches of snow on the ground and most of us were in agreement that summer couldn’t come fast enough; and now here we are enjoying the summer’s heat reminiscing about the coldness of winter.

As I get older it seems like time is literally flying by.

I remember when I was a kid that it seemed like it took forever for anything to happen; like Christmas, summer vacation, and my birthday.

Now it seems like these events are happening faster then ever. I am starting to look at life and say “slow down and just pause for a moment you are going too fast.”

I know that’s not going to happen unless I purposely stop and take time to smell the roses; because in this fast paced world that we live in, where we have to work to pay the bills, and provide for our families, slowing down is the last thing we think about; unless something catastrophic happens that forces us to slow down.

So now that you are aware, take some time out of your busy life to smell the roses, don’t let the worries of money and finances stop you from taking time out to enjoy a moment  with your family, friends, and loved ones.

If you can take a vacation where you can relax, or if you want to do something that doesn’t cost too much; just go to the park, sit on a bench and watch the beauty of nature that you probably wouldn’t see if you didn’t take time out to smell the roses!

Feel free to comment about what you do to slow down if this fast paced word.

This is a great theme of mine: relaxing. Not being in a hurry. Drinking in the world. When you slow down, you realize you have all the time in the world.

Relaxing and not being in a hurry is a wonderful theme. I had to slow down a little, and now I’m starting to notice just the little things in life that I would never have paid attention to if I continued at that fast pace.
